Operation U2.....DENVER....Day 2

Woke up this morning feeling MUCH better (for now), but still have NO voice. I have literally been whispering since Tuesday morning and it's getting very old. You'd be surprised how whispering (where ppl can actaully semi-hear you) strains all the muscles in your neck. We wanted something good for breakfast, so we put on our shoes and started walking. We're staying at the Hyatt and the block over is the 16th Street Mall. It's a loooooong stretch of road that contains a ton of strip mall like stores. Connected to it is what they call The Pavilion. It's 3 level outdoor mall that also has a 2-story movie theatre. It's an awesome atmosphere. Anyhow...back to breakfast. We ate (again) at the Corner Bakery and it was most amazing. We came back to the hotel for a little bit and watched some TV. Mom went for a massage and I got caught up on The Office and Parks & Recreation. As soon as she got back, we hit the 11:40 movie...Bridesmaids. HILARIOUS...seriously...it was hilarious!! After the movie we started walking...and walking...and walking. We went until 16th Street was no more...and still kept walking. We crossed the Platte River and took the paved paths to a HUGE surprise...a favorite store of mine which we just so happened to find right on the path, hidden in the trees...REI! So, we did some shopping and kept walking. We passed the Aqaurium and Children's Museum...and kept going until we got to the front gate at Invesco Mile High. We could hear Bono all the way up....soundcheck...it was amazing. We talked to some people who were also listening and watched the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders run around the outside of the stadium doing a scavenger hunt. Pretty funny stuff. It had turned out to be a nice day and we were thoroughly enjoying the fact that we had no plans...we just went and did. I was starting to feel tired and definitely needed my meds, so after awhile, we decided to make our way back to the room. We were over a two miles away, so we wanted to hit the public transportation back. All the way up and down 16th Street Mall, they had free buses...so we hopped one of those, not knowing where it would take us. We went back to the hotel for a little bit, watched the end of Mama Mia...and it hit us just how exhausted we actually were. We forced ourselves to get up around 8pm because we still needed to eat. Instead of getting room serivce, we decided to brave the 16th Street Mall again and hit up the Hard Rock Cafe. And what's better than eating at the Hard Rock Cafe? Yes, that's correct...eating at the Hard rock Cafe with a live U2 cover band. Heeeep. I enjoyed the most amazing salad ever...the anti-cobb salad...fully covered in cranberries, granny smith apples, avocados, mango's, oranges, grilled chicken, and vinegrette. It was absoulutely superb!! Coming back to the room, I decided to watch The Office episode where Dwight almost shoots Andy in the ear...classic, I know..and then we fell asleep...GOOD THINGS TO COME TOMORROW...Starting with breakfast with an old friend!!
